reduction for arrays

Postby lacek » Wed Jan 11, 2012 12:18 am

I read that there is no way to use reduction for arrays in C/C++ as there is no way for openmp to know whether a variable is array or not. With new C++ come fixed size array containers, vectors existed for some time. I suppose these are not considered "arrays" of C++. I would like ask if there are plans to enable using them as arrays in fortran (from "reduction" point of view).

The OpenMP Language Committee is currently considering adding support for user-defined reduction operators. When this feature becomes available you will be able to handle this case!
