Workshop on OpenMP Applications and Tools May 17-20, 2004 Houston, Texas
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT DATES:
Workshop: May 17-18, 2004
OpenMP lab: May 19 - 20, 2004
Submission of abstracts: March 12, 2004
Notification of acceptance: April 9, 2004
Final papers due: May 4, 2004

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

The OpenMP API is a widely accepted standard for high-level shared-memory
parallel programming. Since its introduction in 1997, OpenMP has gained
support from the majority of high-performance compiler and hardware vendors.

WOMPAT 2004 is the latest in a series of workshops on topics related to
OpenMP that take place at locations in North America. Previous events in
this series were held at Toronto (Canada), Fairbanks (Alaska),
Purdue (Indiana) and San Diego (California).
OpenMP workshops are also held annually in Europe (EWOMP) and Asia (WOMPEI).
Additional information about these previous workshops can be found through
the cOMPunity web site at http://www.compunity.org.

The Workshop on OpenMP Applications and Tools (WOMPAT 2004) will serve
as a forum for users and developers of OpenMP to meet, share ideas and
experiences, and to discuss the latest developments in OpenMP and its
applications. WOMPAT 2004 is co-sponsored by the OpenMP Architecture
Review Board (ARB) and cOMPunity, a community of researchers and
developers in academia and industry. It is also
sponsored by The Portland Group, a division of ST, Inc.

WORKSHOP PAPERS:
The workshop proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in
their LNCS series. Please note that the review process is based
on extended abstracts of up to 5 pages. Abstracts are due on March 12, 2004.
Final papers are due on May 4.

OMPLAB:
The workshop is augmented by a practical hands-on session, where
participants will be able to try out a variety of compilers and
tools on their own codes. Vendors and researchers are invited to
contribute tools, along with a brief tutorial on their use, to this
session. Attendence at OMPLab may be in conjunction with, or separate
from, the WOMPAT workshop. More information will soon be available on the
website.

LOCATION:

WOMPAT 2004 will be held on campus at the University of Houston, Houston,
Texas, U.S.A. Houston is served by two major airports.
