[Omp] Recommended book on OpenMP?

I resent shameless plugs. We should avoid them at all costs. :)
There is a new book just out the market that talks quite a bit about
OpenMP. Its titled
Patterns for Parallel programming
Its by Tim Mattson, Beverly Sanders and Berna Massigill (i.e. this is a
shameless plug ... shame on me).
The examples in the book use OpenMP, MPI and java. It's a different
kind of book since its not about the API's. Rather its about how to use
them.
So even thought it doesn't have OpenMP in the title, it actually
includes quite a bit of OpenMP content.
But even with my new and excellent book (yet another shameless plug), I
agree with the previous comment. We are way overdue for a new book about
OpenMP.
I've been looking over the new 2.5 spec nearing completion, and I must
say, I am very impressed. I think the team working on the spec should
produce a book ... and they should do so right away. I'd love to see a
book with the text of the 2.5 spec on one page with the facing page
containing rationale and background. An annotated specification of
sorts.

Subject: Re: [Omp-lang] Recommended book on OpenMP?
Most of the 27 Amazon hits really have little to do with
OpenMP. Most of these have a handful of "references"
to OpenMP but the books deal with grid computing, general
architecture (e.g., Hennessy and Patterson), heterogeneous
cluster computing, or surveys of parallel methods.
In this Amazon lineup, there are only two books that
specifically address OpenMP:
Parallel Programming in OpenMP, Chandra, et al
(very dated and incomplete unless they've come
out with a new edition).
Parallel Programming in C with MPI and OpenMP, Quinn
(Shameless plug for my dissertation professor.
But this book is only partially about OpenMP
and is restricted to C).
I don't consider either of these to be a home run, but the
Chandra, et al is still the definitive work.
We NEED a new book on OpenMP that details for Fortran/C/C++
the use of the most up-to-date standard. Surely one of us is
willing to step up to the plate. :-)
